We are told the council must hold paid-for events in parks to raise revenue, but if it can’t do this in a commercially competent way ie charging a realistic price, what is the point? Lambeth Council is charging Pokémon Go a derisory £80k for the three weeks of disruption it will bring. Last but not least, Pokémon Go is likely to make around £2 million for itself in Brockwell Park.This is a gross breach of the undertaking Lambeth Council gave to the Brockwell Park Community Partners (BPCP) and to the FOBP that major events, including the Lambeth Country Show, would be restricted to the May–June period.The damage they cause to the park’s ecology will be compounded if it occurs in a period of bad weather There is likely to be many more, given that each Pokémon Go player is often accompanied by family/friends.
